ROXBURY, NJ – Less than a week after it was reactivated, ending three decades of dormancy, the historic fountain at Hopatcong State Park is off again, thanks to a harmful algal bloom (HAB) in Lake Hopatcong. Fire company coin toss turns up wedding ring in Sussex County
FRANKLIN BOROUGH, NJ (Sussex County) – A coin toss fundraiser turned up a wedding ring, and the Franklin Fire Department is hoping to get it back to its rightful owner. The fire company, in a post on its Facebook page, said that the wedding ring was found in one of their buckets sometime between Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 in Franklin Borough.

Sparta Residents Asked to Complete Survey for Updated Open Space and Recreation Plan
SPARTA, NJ – The Sparta Environmental Commission, a statutory board, is working with the Land Conservancy of New Jersey to update Open Space and Recreation Plan for the community. The are asking Sparta residents to complete a survey to help them “identify goals and recommendations for the plan.” The survey takes about five minutes to complete. The Land Use Board meeting on July 25, 2024, has been cancelled. The next regularly scheduled meeting will be held on Thursday, August 08, 2024 commencing at 7:00 pm located in the municipal building at 50 North Road, Chester, NJ. Pohatcong Township to Introduce Budget in August, with 3.98% Increase
