Roxbury Woman's Club Sponsors School Supply Collection

ROXBURY, NJ - The Roxbury Woman’s Club is collecting school supplies for the Deidre’s House and Roxbury Social Services.

Deirdre’s House is the NJ Children’s Alliance Center in Morris County for child victims of abuse and/or neglect and for children that have witnessed violence.

The club is seeking donations of the following (new only) items, noting that the first day of school in Roxbury is Aug. 28 this year:

• Pre-school nap mats
• Pre-school art smocks
• Folders
• Pencils - mechanical, regular, thick
• Pencil boxes/cases/pouches
• Pencil sharpeners
• Crayons - regular and thick
• Pens, highlighters, markers, colored pencils
• Dry-erase pens and erasers
• 3 ring binders, college ruled loose-leaf paper
• Composition books and 3-subject notebooks
• Scissors - safety and regular (small)
• Post-it notes, glue sticks, white glue
• Backpacks (elementary, middle, high school)
• Lunch boxes

Donation boxes can be found at the Roxbury Public Library. There is also an Amazon wish list here , the club said, but it suggested that people try to buy from local businesses if possible.

"If you are participating, please note that there are two deadlines for donations as we will be delivering donations on both July 10 and Aug. 19," said the club.

The Roxbury Woman’s Club is a non-profit 501(3)c service organization. The Club works on charitable projects to help at the local, county, and state level to make life better for people who live in New Jersey.  Any woman 18 or older is welcome to join. The next general meeting is Sept. 24.
