RAHWAY, NJ — Even though it's August and school has been out of session since June, the Rahway Public School District's Office of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I) provided several professional development workshops from July 29 through August 22. All teachers were invited and encouraged to attend the various sessions to help them hone their practice as teachers as we inch closer to the start of the school year. Last Graduating Class of Netcong H.S. Has Reunion
June 20, 1974 saw the end of an era. It was the day the last class graduated from Netcong High School. (After that, area high school students would graduate from Lenape Valley High.) The Netcong High class of 1974 had 94 members; 15 of those have passed away. In September, many of the remaining members of that graduating class will be gathering together for their 50th high school reunion. Recently, former classmates Amanda E. Rush of Netcong, Joe Benvenuto, of Byram, Earl Weaver of Succasunna, and Cindylu Pierce Fitzpatrick, of East Hanover gave a brief glimpse into the history of the school, reminisced a little about their time at Netcong High and shared some advice for recent high school graduates.
