This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available.

ROY, Utah ( ABC4 ) — Two people are injured after a plane crashed into the front yard of a northern Utah residence on Wednesday, according to Sgt. Josh Taylor with the Roy Police Department.

Just before 4 p.m., a plane crashed near 4500 South and 2350 West in Roy. Authorities said two people received minor injuries from the crash.

Taylor said the plane was damaged and the home may have some damage as well, but no one on the property or in the neighborhood was hurt.

A security camera recorded the moment the plane crashed into Anthony Baugh’s front yard. He told ABC4 that learning of the incident “immediately left me in a panic trying to get home as fast as I could.”

Baugh said everyone in his family was safe, however, the crash brought up difficult memories for some family members.

“My eldest one, he was shaken up a little bit, we had some family members that passed away in a plane crash a few years ago so it was a little nerve-racking,” he said.

Baugh said one of the crash victims had a cut near his eye and the other appeared to be in shock. Katie Quigley, a neighbor, told ABC4 the pilot and passenger looked to be alright and were walking after the crash. She said if it weren’t for the two trees that the plane crashed into, it likely would have “gone right into their home.”

“A lot of people here were blessed today,” Baugh said.

Taylor said the police department is investigating the cause of the crash. He added that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are aware of the incident and will also conduct their own investigation.
