One man hospitalized after train crashes head on into car in Kenton early Sunday morning
KENTON, OH (WLIO) - The Kenton Police Department is investigating a collision between a car and a train early Sunday morning. Around 3am, a vehicle heading south on Detroit Street drove around the stop bars at a railroad crossing and turned left directly onto the tracks. The tires got stuck and an oncoming train struck the car head on, pushing it about 30 feet and back onto the road. The driver was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital and later Life Flighted to Columbus. Footage from the train showed that there were two others passengers who fled the scene before police arrived. The crash is still under investigation and alcohol is suspected to be a factor.
