CORYDON, Iowa — A prehistoric discovery is now complete in one southern Iowa community. The University of Iowa Office of the State Archaeologist says they have finished a 12-day excavation of a mastodon in Wayne County. They say this is the first-ever well-preserved skull that's been discovered in Iowa.
