Magoffin County to host Russell for Homecoming
SALYERSVILLE — Magoffin County will host former state champion Russell for Homecoming in the first half of the 2024 high school football season. The Hornets are slated to welcome in the Red Devils for a non-district game on Friday, Sept. 13. Kickoff for the Magoffin County-Russell game is set for 7:30 p.m.
Kentucky doctor sentenced to prison for illegally prescribing drugs to undercover patients
PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WCHS) — A Pikeville, Kentucky, doctor was sentenced to prison Monday for illegally prescribing amphetamines to undercover patients, federal prosecutors said. Jason Stamper, 52, was sentenced to 32 months in prison after pleading guilty in a 2022 investigation where he prescribed amphetamines to multiple patients without a legitimate medical purpose, a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky said.
