Local musician Arthur “Buster” Ray Gilmer is retiring after 60 years of spreading his musical love. “I used to play on pots and pans back in the day, like I was playing the piano, and then my grandmother bought me a piano and I was able to practice every day on that and I still do,” said Gilmer.

Fair Haven Farms hosts 4th Annual Sunflower Festival
Celebrate the transition from summer to fall at Fair Haven Farm's 4th Annual Sunflower Festival. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 24th and 25th. For a $10 admission cost attendees can shop around at dozens of artisan vendors, go on hayrides, visit a petting zoo, play games, and more. Businesses in downtown Butler provided passports to Italian heritage that many people appreciated Saturday during the Taste of Italy Crawl. The daylong event was held to celebrate Italian heritage during the weekend when the Italian Festival has been held the past few years. A disagreement between the city and festival organizers led to the cancellation of the event, which had taken place since 2019.

Butler County dog park alerts visitors to possible canine parvovirus exposure
BUTLER, Pa. (KDKA) -- A dog park in Butler County is reporting an exposure of canine parvovirus. The Butler Parks Department received a call from a person using Jade's Dog Park informing them that just after a visit to the park, their dog was diagnosed with canine parvovirus. "We had one report of a parvo case, they reported they received the parvo disease and they reported that they were at the dog park, so what we do, we come up and we want to inform people of it," said Lance Wellibes, the director of Butler County Parks and Recreation.The parks department...
