Two Suspects Wanted in Connection to Highway Patrol Trooper Shooting in Putnam County
Authorities are searching for two suspects who are wanted in connection to the shooting of Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper Adam Cothron in Cookeville on July 19th. Authorities have identified one of the suspects as 29-year-old Braze Rucker and THP is offering a $10,000 award for information leading to the arrest of Rucker. Authorities are still trying to identify the second suspect.

The Nashville Film Festival (NashFilm), a week-long celebration of film, music and culture, announced a sneak peek of six acclaimed films selected for its 55th annual event, taking place from September 19–25, 2024 at venues throughout the city. Titans 2024 Training Camp Preview: A Look at the Edge Rushers
Here is a look at the 2024 Tennessee Titans edge rushers. In camp (7): Harold Landry III, Arden Key, Rashad Weaver, Caleb Murphy, Jaylen Harrell, Thomas Rush, Khalid Duke. Offseason developments: Veterans Key and Weaver worked with the team in Nashville throughout the team’s offseason program, each looking to earn even more opportunities in 2024. The team has been pleased with Key’s attitude, and participation. Murphy, heading into his second NFL season, was also a consistent participant. There’s a void left behind following the departure of DL/Edge Denico Autry, and the Titans need players to step up. The Titans added Harrell in the seventh round of the NFL Draft out of Michigan, after bringing back Rush on a futures deal and also and adding Duke as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State. Meanwhile, Ben Bloom was hired as outside linebackers coach on Brian Callahan’s staff.
New Boutique Hotel Opens on Music Row
A new luxury boutique hotel, Motif (50 Music Square West), located in the heart of Music Row, officially opened its doors for business with a grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony. Members of the Nashville Chamber of Commerce and city dignitaries were in attendance, as well as many influencers and executives from throughout Music City.

Short Mountain Distillery Offers A Taste of Tennessee History
Out in the rolling hills of Cannon County, deep in the hollers, lies a spring that was once the source of the water used to create the bootleg moonshine and Tennessee Whiskey supplying Al Capone’s speakeasies in 1920s Chicago. Today, it is the water used to make moonshine, whiskey and rye by Billy Kaufman, owner of Short Mountain Distillery. Made from the same recipes used by the bootleggers that made it for Capone, passed down through local families, they were eventually shared with Kaufman.
Robert’s Western World to Celebrate 25 Years With Block Party
On August 5th, Robert’s Western World, known as Nashville’s Home of Traditional Country Music, will celebrate its 25th year under the proprietorship of JesseLee Jones, the leader of its house band, Brazilbilly. Robert’s is taking over the stretch of Lower Broadway between Fourth and Fifth Avenues just outside of the venue for a block party. Beasie Rd Extension (River Rock Blvd just north of Racquet Club Dr) Expected Lane Closures: Monday Through Friday: Riverrock Blvd will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation intermittently at Beasie Rd for roadway widening work. Road and bridge construction work over Stones River Greenway continues. The greenway trail will be closed around the existing Beasie Rd area until further notice due to bridge construction work over the greenway trail. There will be no through trail access between the Old Fort Park and Cason Trailhead. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.
