Police pulled Stephens over around 1:36 Monday morning on Columbian Avenue. Police say Stephens was driving with a criminally suspended license and was arrested without incident at that point.

During the stop, police say they observed indicators of drug activity and seized the car in pursuit of a search warrant. Troopers obtained permission to search the car, and say they found a felony amount of cocaine.

One dead, one rescued at Barberville Falls

Troopers say the investigation led them to find Stephens had court-ordered conditions of release to not possess regulated drugs. He was issued a citation for possession of cocaine, DLS, violation of conditions of release, and being a habitual criminal.

He was then taken to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Center. He was lodged on $100,000 bail.
