    Want to save an old house? Cheap Old Houses Instagram page wants you to pick this VT one

    The popular Instagram page "Cheap Old Houses" just found a diamond in the rough in Vermont.

    An 1860 Victorian, complete with a turret, was featured on the account, which made a name for itself sharing "cheap old house" real estate listings and telling people someone should buy and save them. The account led to the HGTV show "Who's Afraid of a Cheap Old House."

    "The tile the mantels the tower the stairs the EVERYTHING!!!" the post said, sharing photos from the listing for 5 Clement Road, Rutland City.

    The property was listed by Hughes Group Team of Casella Real Estate. According to the listing, a six bedroom manor with two full baths is for sale for only $540,000.

    "Step back in time and experience the charm of a bygone era with this one-of-a-kind 1860's Victorian home, situated on a stately 2-acre lot in Rutland City, the listing said. "Rich with history and old-world charm, this magnificent property offers endless possibilities for its new owners."

    The listing goes on to say that the property has a large living room for entertaining guests and an ample dining room for hosting family parties.

    "From the large screened-in porch, you can enjoy the serene outdoors year-round, the listing said. "The 2nd floor consists of 5 more bedrooms, offering plenty of space for family, guests, or the potential for a bed and breakfast setup."

    According to Zillow, the average price of a Vermont home is $401,965. With this Victorian-era property priced at $540,000, so this particular listing might not be considered so cheap. It's part of their "Save This House" series where the post more expensive homes that still need some love.
