RUTLEDGE, Tenn. (WATE) — Coworkers of a lineman who was fatally electrocuted while on the job in Grainger County organized a lengthy funeral procession in his honor on Tuesday.

Nathan Potter, 39, died earlier this month while Appalachian Electric crews were working to install a new service. He is survived by his wife, Kristina, and their three children.

Numerous vehicles participated in the procession. Many linemen could be seen standing along the roadway and the arms of bucket trucks flew American flags as the line of vehicles passed below.

“He would do it for any of us,” coworker Matthew Farris told 6 News . “He was a fighter. He was a strong-willed person. He’d bend over backwards to do anything he could to help any of our families so it’s only right that we come do this stuff for him.”

An online fundraiser was launched to assist the family during this difficult time.
