(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento Republic FC celebrated one of its fans before Wednesday’s match against Las Vegas Lights FC.
The USL Championship, the league in which Republic FC plays, welcomed Steven Mansi as its one millionth fan to watch a match this year at the Heart Health Park gates.
After walking through the gate, Mansi was greeted with confetti and cheers, and he received a custom fan kit including a jersey that reads, “One Millionth Fan.”
Mansi, who is originally from Nevada, was attending his first home game as a Republic FC fan. The club’s “Indomitable Spirit” and the club’s historic 2022 U.S. Open Cup run led Mansi to become a fan.

“Originally I’m from Nevada, and our team was Reno FC that closed down during the COVID pandemic,” Mansi said in a news release issued by the team. “So then I was just looking for a team still kind of local to support, and that’s how I eventually found the USL and Sacramento Republic FC.”
In 2023, the USL Championship surpassed two million fans, eclipsing the mark last September. That same year, Republic FC averaged 10,000 people at each home match.
Republic FC’s largest crowd of the 2023 season was its tenth anniversary match at Sacramento City College, which drew an attendance of over 20,000 fans.
