Traveling on Interstate 80? You can expect overnight traffic delays due to construction, according to Caltrans.

Roadwork on eastbound Interstate 80 and Highway 50 will continue from 10 p.m. Friday until 8:30 a.m. Saturday, the state transporation agency said on X.

Traffic will be reduced to two lanes during that time period.

    Where is Interstate 80 construction?

Construction on the Yolo Interstate 80 Pavement Rehabilitation Project spans from the Yolo Causeway to West Sacramento.

On Interstate 80, the project site stretches from 1.4 miles east of Mace Boulevard to the Sacramento River Bridge, according to Caltrans.

On Highway 50, the work zone ranges from Interstate 80 to the Jefferson Boulevard overcrossing, the agency said.

Construction crews are working to rehabilitate the roadway’s surface in Yolo County.

    What about Interstate 5 roadwork?

A key Interstate 5 on-ramp will close for a week as crews work on the pavement, according to Caltrans.

The eastbound Arena Boulevard loop on-ramp to southbound I-5 in North Natomas closed Thursday night and remain shut off to traffic until 8 p.m. July 25, the state transportation agency said.

    Slow down in work zone

Speed limits in the construction zone will be reduced to 55 mph at all times for the safety of construction workers and drivers, Caltrans said.

The California Highway Patrol will ticket any speeding motorists.
