(FOX40.COM) — A South Sacramento neighborhood was threatened by the flames of a fast moving vegetation fire on Friday afternoon, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

At 1:23 p.m., fire crews received calls of vegetation fire in the 8600 block of Lakha Circle.

Fire crews got to work immediately by creating fire breaks and air crews began dropping water on the fire.

Images from the fire district show that some vehicles were destroyed in the fire, but the blaze was stopped at 33 acres before it could cause any injuries.

Metro Fire will continue to monitor the area of the burn and assess if any properties were damaged from the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
