Leeds police thwart potential burglary, recover tools and stolen weapons
LEEDS, AL (WBMA) — In Leeds, police arrested two men in a potential burglary offense on the 7300 block of Parkway. According to police, on July 30, 2024, detectives with the Leeds Police Special Investigations Unit spotted a vehicle with the lights turned off behind a closed business around 10:11 p.m. When detectives approached the two men in the vehicle, the driver was identified as Kenneth Lamont Crawford. The passenger tried to give the detectives a fake name, but was later identified as Ahmad Jamal McMillan.

Multiple crews quickly extinguish yacht fires at Turtle Point
KILLEN, Ala. (WAFF) - Multiple crews responded to Turtle Point Marina following a boat fire on Sunday morning. According to Killen Fire and Rescue, two yachts were destroyed and other boats were damaged. The department said they were dispatched around 7 a.m. to Turtle Point Country Club Marina for a 65-foot yacht on fire inside the marina. Two 60-foot yachts were found on fire and moving toward other vessels.
