Wildlife experts are in West Alabama working to track what may be the first-ever black bear to be confirmed in the city of Tuscaloosa. JASPER, Ala. (WBRC) - A new Safe Haven Baby Box in Jasper is the seventh one in Alabama. It’s located at Jasper’s Fire Station on 18th Street. The baby box is a way for a mother who is in crisis to safely and privately surrender their newborn in the box. Once inside the box, a silent alarm is triggered. Firefighters will then rush the baby to the hospital for further medical evaluation.
