New Twin Cities domestic violence shelter to allow pets
MAPLEWOOD, Minn. — The nonprofit Tubman broke ground on Wednesday night at Harriet's Haven for Pets in Maplewood.It's a first for the Twin Cities: a place dedicated to protecting Minnesotans from violence with a place for their pets, too. The space will be added on to its domestic violence shelter. Tubman says more than half of domestic violence survivors delay leaving abusive relationships because they're afraid their pets won't be safe. Now, those pets will be able to come with them. Dog treat library goes up in Robbinsdale
Robbinsdale has a new little free library, but with dog treats instead of books. Jessica Wagner, owner, said it was a way to be “a part of the community and just to give back.” The Yellow Door Dog House sits at 4548 Abbott Ave. N., where Jessica lives and runs Yellow Door Homes Real Estate along with her spouse, Mark Wagner. Although occasional real estate clients will bring their dogs for treats, Jessica said mainly it is her neighbors who’ve been frequenting the spot so far. Jessica’s father-in-law Dan Wagner built and painted the dog treat library. People are welcome to donate dog treats or other accessories as well as take a treat for their dogs.

Since their humble beginnings nearly thirty years ago, when they started playing in a San Diego garage, ‘blink-182’ have sold over fifty-million albums worldwide and rocked audiences from Adelaide to Zurich having become one of the defining rock bands of their generation. According to The New York Times, “No punk band of the 1990s has been more influential than ‘blink-182’.” While ‘blink-182’ have already racked up more than their fair share of platinum records and blockbuster singles, they are looking forward to their 10th studio album. With Delonge back after nearly a decade fans can expect that electric on stage magic that the trio has delivered over the years.
