HINSDALE — Main Street Park in Hinsdale was filled with people on Saturday, all gathered to witness the unveiling and dedication of the town’s new Vietnam War memorial. The memorial now stands as a forever symbol of recognition for those who served the United States during the Vietnam conflict. Hinsdale Historical Society President Stephen Clute cited the poor treatment of Vietnam veterans in the direct aftermath of the war in Southeast Asia as one of the most crucial reasons as to why it was so important for the town to acknowledge the sacrifices of those that fought.

On July 8, 2024, at 12:00 PM, the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of 22-year-old Ryan A. Olson of Franklinville, NY. Olson was detained by the Olean Police Department following a Child Protective Services (CPS) visit and subsequently handed over to the Sheriff’s Office.
