Alan Francis Matzke
Matzke, Alan Francis Passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on January 24, 1932 in Waseca, MN, he was the cherished son of Alfred and Frances Matzke and raised in a generation of great resiliency and tenacity. In 1950, Alan attended St. Olaf College. His studies were interrupted in 1952 when he was drafted into the US Army to serve in the Korean War. He returned to complete his BS in Physics and then attended the University of Minnesota to complete a second degree in Electrical Engineering. While at the U of MN, Alan met the love of his life, Annbolette Nessum. They married in 1960 and enjoyed 64 wonderful years together. He spent his professional career in the computer industry, working for UNIVAC, Fabri-Tek, and Control Data. Alan's dedicated, humble, giving, resourceful and humorous legacy guided and shaped his family every step of the way. He will always be remembered for leading the Six-Mixed Nuts on adventurous activity, be it boating on Lake Minnetonka, family vacations, working a home construction project, or just swimming in the Matzke pool. He was a devoted volunteer with the Minnetonka Power Squadron, Boy Scouts, Meals on Wheels, and the MSP Airport Travelers Assistance. The unforgettable memories, stories, lifelong lessons, and deep faith are cherished by his loving wife Annbolette, and children, Sylvia (Jennings), Annette, Kurt (Donna) and Maria (Matt). He was his grandchildren's number one fan: Brittany, Alan J (Alyssa), Olivia, Alexandrea, Coleton and Katelyn. Always ready to hear their stories, help solve a problem, lend a provoking thought, or share quality time. His legacy is one of boundless curiosity, creativity, and profound love for family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Preceded in death by his parents, sister Mickey and infant granddaughter, Gabrielle. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Edward Catholic Church in Bloomington, MN on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 10:00 am. Visitation 1 hour prior and luncheon following. Ferguson, Glenn Paul
Glenn Paul Ferguson, a man of few words, yet profound wisdom, born to Junior and Germaine Ferguson in Winona on February 7, 1959, took his last breath at Watkins Hospice on July 15, 2024. Graduating with honors from the Music Technical College in Minneapolis, where he honed his mastery of the guitar, Glenn's musical talents became a tapestry of beauty and emotion. He took lessons at Hal Leonard for 16 years.
