Section of Route 143 in Lehigh County renamed to honor 2 fallen firefighters
LYNN TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A section of State Route 143 in Lehigh County has been renamed in honor of two New Tripoli fallen firefighters. "We still miss him so much. And we always will," said Karen Gruber, wife of Marvin Gruber. "They would be so proud and honored, as are we to see this extraordinary dedication."

Sarah Gatehouse continues to add to her legacy with Kutztown University field hockey as she was named a First Team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American. The Sinking Spring, Pa. native becomes the first Golden Bear field hockey student-athlete to earn Academic All-America status since Mackenzie Fuhrman in 2018-19. Bern Township police have charged a New Jersey man with perpetrating a lottery scam that cost a 68-year-old township woman nearly $1,000. The victim was tricked by Eugene C. Luke, 63, into sending a cashier’s check for $950 to his home in Wayne, N.J., in mid-December, investigators said. 2023 Citizen of the Year
Paul H. Dimon of Tower City received the Tower Porter Improvement Organization's 2023 Citizen of the Year honor during a ceremony Saturday. The organization honored Dimon for his many years of dedication to the community where he volunteers with many organizations. A lifelong resident of Tower City, Dimon owns and operates the Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services. He is married to the former Anne Marie Flynn, who assists him with the daily operation. They are the proud parents of two sons, Jared and Spencer. Jared is a graduate of Penn State University and Pittsburg Institute of Mortuary Science. He will complete his internship at Dimon Funeral Home in February and will join the family business as a second-generation funeral director. Spencer is a graduate of Shippensburg University and recently finished his first year at Thomas Jefferson Medical School where he is studying to become a doctor.
