Prosper "JR" V. Harvieux Jr.
Prosper "JR" Harvieux, Jr., age 67 of Stillwater, formerly of Sun City, AZ, died June 27, 2024. JR was born January 19, 1957 in New Richmond, WI to Prosper and Leona (Gibson) Harvieux. He grew up attending Mass at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Richmond and graduated from New Richmond High School where he played on the varsity football team. JR worked at Andersen Windows for 30 years. He was united in marriage to Cathleen "Cathy" Cerra on June 13, 2013 in Laughlin, NV. The couple resided in Stillwater and enjoyed traveling to new places and eating at new restaurants. After retiring, they relocated to Sun City, AZ in 2016 where they enjoyed riding their motorized scooters around town, gathering with other retirees at the pool/social events and attended St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church. JR and Cathy returned to Stillwater in 2021, purchasing the previous Stillwater home they had lived in.

7-9-45 to 6-16-24 Jim Larson lived his entire life at the farm place near Dresser, WI. He attended Bear Lake School for 8 years and went on to graduate from St. Croix Falls High School. While in High School he was active in FFA and wrestled. Jim always loved working on cars and large equipment. He had many work adventures, Fabritech, over the road trucking, owned and operated a gas station, Trollhaugen and worked as a bus mechanic for St Croix Falls Schools.

School board questions
An elected member of the Amery School Board, Joseph Vierkant, was formally censured on April 18th, 2024 by the Board. In a Closed Session meeting of the School Board, with the School District’s Administrator and Attorney present, he was instructed to respond to any questions that he might receive from the public that he was given “a slap on the hand and that they are moving forward”. What would happen if he did not comply? A question for those in attendance.

Jim Larson of Dresser died June 16, 2024. He was 78. Jim Larson was born July 9, 1945, and lived his entire life at the farm place near Dresser. Wayne Ralph Hanson
Wayne R. Hanson, 63, Comstock, Wis., passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024. He was born June 28, 1960, at Shell Lake to Merlin Floyd and Clara (Kurht) Hanson. Wayne loved his Harley, the Green Bay Packers, and most importantly, his children and grandchildren. The time he spent with his grandchildren was very special to him. He had a particular soft spot for animals. It was not uncommon for Wayne to take his dog along for rides on the Harley.
Hopes school board drama ends
As a former employee of Amery School District, I was disheartened to read the June 20th article about the ongoing drama with Joe Vierkandt. As someone who had the privilege of working closely with the excellent, committed and caring staff in Amery Schools, I am aware that educators, administrators and school board members alike have more important things to focus on. My hope for the students and families of Amery is that every member of the board gets back to solving actual problems faced by our young people and center the learning and well being of the students.
