Home evictions are on the rise in several major cities nationwide as Americans continue to grapple with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis. Eviction filings over the past year are up more than 15% compared with the period before the COVID-19 pandemic began in 10 cities across the country, according to the Eviction Lab, a research unit at Princeton University. The Eviction Lab tracks 10 states and 34 cities.

White Bear Lake man charged with murder in baby’s death
WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. – A White Bear Lake man is charged with murder in the death of his three-month-old son. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office says Jackson Forester died in the hospital March 22 of complications due to blunt force head trauma. Prosecutors accuse 39-year-old Mark Forester of shaking the baby on Jan. 31 before the boy’s mother brought him to the hospital.

WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. — A White Bear Lake father is accused of killing his 3-month-old baby while under the influence of drugs and alcohol.The 39-year-old man was charged with one count of second-degree murder, according to a complaint filed in Ramsey County on Monday.The child had been injured in late January and died in March. In June, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office released an autopsy report that listed the baby's cause of death as "complications of bilateral subdural hemorrhages."Child abuse specialists say the infant's injuries were "highly consistent" with abusive head trauma. William Lee 'Billy' Ahlers
(1984-2024) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son William "Billy" Lee Ahlers, 40, of Stillwater, MN, who died on July 12, 2024. Billy was born in St. Paul in 1984 to Gary & Dawn Ahlers. He grew up in Stillwater MN. Billy received his bachelors degree in Marketing Communications with a minor in Music at University of Wisconsin-River Falls. Billy enjoyed playing the guitar and was active throughout his life in Hockey, Motocross, BMX biking, SIM racing, RC Car Racing, Disc Golf and loved Fishing with his father. He also loved spending time with his family and friends and was especially fond of his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Grandparents William & Kathryn Sauerbrey, Bonnie Ahlers, William & Rita Ahlers and Aunt Denise Mallak. Survived by Parents Gary & Dawn Ahlers, Sisters Christy Standfield (Jason), Megan Gilhoi (Christopher), Heather Ahlers, Nieces & Nephews Alexis, Andrew & Aiden Standfield, Quinnten, Brannock & Vayda Gilhoi, Great Nephews Russell Nyholm III & Luke Standfield, along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & Friends. Visitation is Monday, July 22nd, 4:30pm. Funeral is Tuesday July 23rd, 11am (following a 10am Visitation.) Services will be held at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, Mahtomedi MN.

Erin Marie Donahue age 53 of Lindstrom, Minnesota passed away Tuesday, July 9th, 2024 at home surrounded by her loved ones following a long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Erin was born the daughter of James and Dianne Donahue on January 11th, 1971 in Hastings, where she was raised and then graduated from Chisago Lakes High School. She than attended Pine Technical College.
