The event was presented by Lashonda “Tricey” Linder. She explains what the event is about, “CHIISAI.CON is a mini anime convention. It’s a big love letter to the anime community learning and loving Japanese culture. We also tried to uplift our community. It’s a niche that is big in Walterboro, but we always have to go to Charleston or Columbia. Most of the children and teenagers of the community can’t go because they parents can’t get off work or it’s to expensive to drive. I brought a bunch of my friends who understand the community and economy of Walterboro. They even they lowered their prices to fit for anybody to be able to buy something here. And we also wanted to be educational at the same time so that way we can let the teenagers and even adults learn how to take these skills and learn how to make a comic book from scratch and be successful with people buying the comic books.”
