She didn’t just lead the Wildcats to a North Central League IV co-championship with Grace Christian Academy of Santa Rosa. She also led Calistoga by far with 11.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per game, and was named the league’s Co-Most Valuable Player with Victory Christian Academy junior Rileigh O’Malley.

Wine Country sees a buyer's market for remote high-end property
Wobbly wine sales appear to be contributing to a buyer's market for high-value properties in Wine Country. Napa and Sonoma counties now feature 54 active listings priced $10 million and over after seeing only a couple of sales at that level this year, according to a new second-quarter luxury report from Compass.
Expect the unexpected at Buck’s Place in Sonoma
Since opening the Fremont Diner in 2008, husband-and-wife restaurateurs Erika and Chad Harris have kept Sonoma diners on their toes with ever-evolving projects. Now that their newest, Buck’s Place, is solidly up and running, I couldn’t help but ask what the couple plan to do next. I could...

Letters to the Argus-Courier, July 26, 2024
On good sportswriting, Islamophobia, and the importance of Grand Jury reports|. EDITOR: How daunting it must have been for staff writer Amelia Richardson to step into to the left-hand column of Sports Plus last year. No one can replace the beloved JJ, but she's done a wonderful job with the Sports Roundup and sports section each week, covering a wide range of local sports. Her writing is clear and articulate, and her friendly voice comes through – she's great.
A dreamy production at the park
On a warm Saturday evening at the downtown Winters Community Park, I set up a chair to enjoy a special production of a very familiar play, the classic Shakespearean comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” produced by Mary Lou Linvill with Denise Cottrell. The park is a perfect location for such a production, as the wooden, multi-level stage was built by members of the community with dedication.

FBC welcomes new pastor
“Preach the gospel at all times and if necessary, use words.”. St. Francis of Assisi’s famous quote fervently falls off the lips of Pastor Lance Smith. As the new leader at First Baptist Church of Winters, the pastor’s life readily reflects the statement. Smith is the first new pastor at the church in 22 years.
