BEMIDJI — Seven organizations in Crookston, Thief River Falls, Roseau, and Bemidji received a combined $100,000 in funding to support welcoming and inclusion efforts in their communities. Haugen Injured In Alcohol-Related Crash
An Erskine area man was injured in a single vehicle accident over the weekend in Polk County. Authorities say alcohol was a factor. According to the State Patrol report, Kevin Wayne Haugen (60) was injured when the westbound 2001 Jeep he was driving struck the back of a Highway 59 guardrail at Highway 2 in Knute Township. Haugen was transported via ambulance to Essentia Health Fosston where he was treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening.

Authorities with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are reporting that the pleasant weather made for a good 4th of July Holiday weekend for some. Conservation Officer Jeremy Woinarowicz says he worked the Independence Day holiday weekend on Lake of the Woods and in the Beltrami Island State Forest area.
