CROOKSTON, Minn. (Valley News Live) - A homeless shelter in Crookston, Minnesota, where a man was shot and killed by police is closed for the next couple of weeks. Care and Share of Crookston says the shelter, donation room, soup kitchen and food shelf will be closed until July 18 so they can take time to heal. They also thanked Alluma, which is a mental health clinic, for supporting staff and guests during this time.

The Crookston Fire Department (CFD) responded to the following calls on 7/10/2024 – At 9:00 p.m., the CFD responded to the 100 block of Sargent St. for a report of an alarm activation. Upon arrival, it was found that cooking had caused the alarm to activate. There was no danger present. The CFD reset the alarm and then cleared the scene.
