Crookston, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Crookston Police Department has issued a statement concerning a fatal officer-involved shooting in the northwestern Minnesota community. Officials say that occurred after Crookston Police officers were dispatched around 11:46 Sunday night to a fight in progress at a homeless shelter. The responding officers found a man inside the shelter being combative toward officers and refusing to follow their verbal commands.

Crookston police say an officer fatally shot a man while responding to reports of a fight at a homeless shelter late Sunday night. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension confirmed it responded to the northwestern Minnesota city and is investigating the shooting.
