AREA AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY MEMBERS ATTEND THE STATE CONVENTION
The American Legion Auxiliary held its 104th State Convention at the Wilmar Convention Center on July 11-13. Auxiliary members from the area attending were Sharon Lanctot (President of Crookston Unit 20 and District 9 Secretary), Margee Keller (Vice President of Unit 20, District 9 Treasurer, and Department AEF Chairman), Jean Walker (President of Warren Unite 27, District Parliamentarian, Past President, and Department NEC).

COMMUNITY VOICE APP AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD
You may have heard about the Community Voice App in Crookston and the surrounding area. Megan Pederson created the app and is working with the Crookston Visitors Bureau to offer a place for cities, counties, businesses, and colleges/universities a landing place for people to get pertinent information on what is going on.
Crookston Storefront Revitalization Program
The Storefront Revitalization Program encourages the preservation and beautification of the buildings in the Crookston area business district. The program consists of two Storefront Grand awards. The Crookston business area includes businesses within the city limits and surrounding business district. By enhancing the visual appearance, we hope to create a more attractive and inviting business experience and environment.

Paul Bly, age 61, of McIntosh, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13th, at his home in Erskine, MN. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 19th, at the McIntosh Community Center with Jeanne Rains officiating. Interment will be in Salem Lutheran Cemetery, McIntosh. Family will greet friends for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the community center. In lieu of flowers, donations may directed to the Center of Addiction and Faith, 7167 Waterstone Lane, Woodbury, MN 55125. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of McIntosh and messages of condolence may be shared at carlinfuneral.com.
Fergus Falls Junior Legion Team Opens Sub-State Play with 2 Wins
The Fergus Falls Post 30 Junior Legion team picked up 2 wins in the Sub-state tournament on Thursday, beating the host team Thief River Falls 5-4 in a tight first round game. In the night cap, Post 30 took care of business, coming from behind and beating the Moorhead Golds 8-3.

Congratulations to Helen Bratvold, Benedictine Living Community – Crookston’s Senior Athlete of the month for July. Helen is a very faithful participant in morning exercise at The Summit Assisted Living Facility. She sees the benefit of exercise and will come willingly and move whatever she is able to at the time.
