Blomberg Ks 16 batters as Mudcats sweep New Ulm Gold
MARSHALL — An early scoring barrage in game 1 and a dominant pitching performance from Ashton Blomberg in game 2 led the Marshall Mudcats to a doubleheader sweep of New Ulm Legion Gold on Tuesday. The games were Marshall’s first since June 16 after heavy rainfall forced the cancelation of the Wood Bat Classic over the weekend.

River back on the rise
After initially cresting on Sunday afternoon, the Des Moines River is once again on the rise Monday morning. The river crested at 24.66 feet Sunday and receded during the day Sunday. However, according to the National Weather Service river gauge located by the Windom Country Club, the river began rising again late Sunday night.
School issues call for sandbaggers
Windom Area Schools has sent out a mass message to families of students, asking for help to fill sandbags at the Windom Arena. Numerous homes in the community are at imminent risk of flooding in light of the forecasted crest of the river, projected at 26 feet, which would be over a foot higher than the record 1969 flood’s crest.
