Regarded as "The Wackiest Festival in the Midwest” Pierogi Fest 2024 kicks off this Friday, July 26, 2024. The free event, established to recognize Eastern European heritage will celebrate 30 years in Whiting. Pierogi Fest will run for three days and features dozens of food booths, arts and crafts vendors and of course lots of live entertainment including a headlining performance by “Fly” band Sugar Ray. Chicago sues 2 suburban gun shops, accuses them of contributing to crime in city
CHICAGO (WBBM) -- The City of Chicago is suing two suburban gun shops accused of contributing to crime in the city. The newly expanded lawsuit named Eagle Sports Range in Oak Forest and Midwest Sporting Goods in Lyons as defendants. The parent company of Glock Handguns in Austria was also added as a defendant.

Man accused of OWI while pulling camper containing 9 kids, Wisconsin State Patrol says
An Illinois man faces drunken-driving charges in Sauk County after police say he pulled a camper containing nine children on a highway following a domestic dispute. The 57-year-old Monee, Illinois, man was arrested by the Wisconsin State Patrol shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on East Washington Avenue at East Springs Drive on Madison’s Far East Side, the State Patrol said in a statement.

The festival drew an estimated 12,000 people during the two-day event July 13-14 with plenty of bands and performers picking and grinning.
