ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Hours before the 2024 NHL Draft, the St. Louis Blues have acquired forward Alexandre Texier from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick in 2025.

As part of the trade, Texier will also sign a two-year contract worth around $2.1 million a year. Texier's agent Dan Milstein announced that Texier was going to join the Blues and sign a 2-year contract extension.

Texier, 24, has spent the last five seasons with the Blue Jackets. This past season, in the career high 78 games he played, Texier managed to reach the 30-point mark for the first time in his young career, while also setting career high marks in goals with 12 and assists with 18.

Overall, the Saint-Martin-d’Heres, France, native has dressed in 201 career NHL regular-season games, accumulating 79 points (34 goals, 45 assists) and 82 penalty minutes.

The French forward, who was a pending restricted free agent before the trade, will likely serve in a middle-six role with the Blues.
