ST. LOUIS – A south St. Louis community is shaken after a shocking series of shootings. In just four days, three separate incidents have shattered the peace on the 6900 block of Minnesota and Alabama Avenues.

Around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, St. Louis Metropolitan Police responded to a home on Minnesota Avenue, finding bullet holes and a shattered screen door window.

The residents, who were asleep after dropping their grandson off, woke up to sound of gunfire. Miraculously, no one was injured. Residents witnessed the shooting.

“My mom is in her car. She’s yelling, ‘Can I get out now?’ She has her head out the window…the guy is still shooting up this house. We’re right there and we’re like, ‘What is going on? Why is this happening? Why would he shoot up this person’s house?’” Johnathan Copland, a nearby resident, said.

This is the third unsettling instance of a troubling pattern. On both Sunday and Monday night, homes in the 6900 block of Alabama Ave. were targeted. Exclusive footage shows a vehicle speeding away after both shootings, leaving behind over 30 shell casings. Back on Minnesota Avenue, residents saw the shooter.

“He had dreadlocks. And sometimes, I’ve seen him before,” Copland said.

FOX 2 reached out to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department regarding the shootings and they stated they do not believe the shootings are related. Police are increasing patrols in the area and they believe a dark-colored sedan is connected to the shootings on Alabama Avenue.

Police are encouraging anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
