The St. Louis Cardinals got a surge of power in the 4-3 victory against the Tampa Bay Rays to open the series on Tuesday.

The Club scored all their runs via the home run as the Cardinals hit a pair of two run homers against Rays starting pitcher Jeffrey Springs .

The first one of those homers was also a career first for outfielder Victor Scott II as he sent one over the right center field wall in the bottom of the second inning on Tuesday.

There are plenty things to be excited about when seeing how Scott is performing early at the plate in his return to St. Louis. Mostly, because his first appearance with the club did not go well. He hit  0.85/.138/.136 in his first attempt at the Majors before being sent to Triple-A Memphis on April 21st.

It was reported that Former Major Leaguer Ryan Ludwick has worked with Scott in the minors this season which included adding a leg kick to get more power out of him. In his time at Triple-A Memphis, Scott had a .620 OPS with six homers and 15 extra base hits. It's good to see that it has translated so far in his second stint with the Major League ball club.

Scott was recalled from Triple-A over the weekend as the Cardinals placed Michael Siani on the 10-day injured list with a right oblique strain. It is uncertain how much time he will miss, however so far, the defense and the performance at the plate is being filled in nicely by Scott.

The Cardinals will continue the series with the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday as they look to clinch the series at home. Victor Scott II is scheduled to be back in the lineup. He is set to bat ninth and play center field.
