Florida’s only historically Black university names interim president
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Florida’s only public historically Black university has chosen an interim leader, after the school’s president announced this month that he intends to resign. The board of Florida A&M University chose Timothy Beard to lead the school on an interim basis beginning in August. A former president of a state college, a longtime academic administrator and a graduate of FAMU, Beard will take the helm as the school faces public backlash for its apparent mishandling of a dubious multi-million dollar donation. Current President Larry Robinson announced earlier this month that he plans to resign.

GUILTY CREATURES: Sex, God and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida, by Mikita Brottman. Were Mikita Brottman’s “Guilty Creatures” a work of fiction, the plot would be deemed clichéd: an affair, a missing body presumed eaten by alligators, a million-dollar life insurance payout and a beautiful widow who quickly finds love in the arms of her dead husband’s newly divorced best friend.

FSU football: 3 major areas defense needs to improve in 2024
I am a long-time supporter of FSU defensive coordinator Adam Fuller, understanding the early years were a combination of the pandemic halting player development in the scheme, lack of elite talent, and overall lack of roster depth. The 2023 season saw most of those deficiencies eliminated for the most part, and FSU fielded a top 10 defense(No. 10) according to FEI advanced metrics. The defense carried FSU once Jordan Travis's injury happened and would have stacked up well against any team in the College Football Playoff. The people who were critical of Adam Fuller going into the season praised him in December.
