Rockville, In. – On July 8th the Rockville Police Dept. investigated a theft of over $2000 from G&M Ace Hardware in Rockville. The suspect was quickly identified as Kayse Jo Lee of Rockville. Friday the Rockville police were able to take Lee in custody and over $2000 worth of the stolen merchandise was recovered and returned to the store.

Terre Haute Community Engagement Report Released
Terre Haute, In. – The results of the Community Engagement Workshop report has been released by Terre Haute officials. Four different areas were focused on in the study. They are housing, employment, education, and criminal justice. Anne-Therese Ryan the Executive Director of the Terre Haute Human Relations Commission says the high rate of homelessness and the lack of affordable housing are two of the biggest challenges. Ryan said “We’re hoping that our government officials, such as the mayor and city council will start to take the ideas in here and start to implement them into changes that they are able to make.”

Sullivan County, In. – Officials from the Merom Camp and Retreat Center say that recently someone broke into Taylor Cabin at the retreat and turned the shower on flooding the building causing extensive structural damage making it uninhabitable. The financial burden of repairing the damages and restoring the cabin to its former glory is substantial and beyond the current means of the Center. The Merom Camp and Retreat Center is currently taking donations from individuals and businesses that would like to make a donation to help repair and restore Taylor Cabin to call 260-403-5685 or find them on Facebook.

Terre Haute, In. – The Cops Cycling For Survivors bicycle tour made its way through Terre Haute Mondy. The ride honors law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Both police and civilians take part in the tour. Money from the event supports the loved ones of fallen officers and efforts to keep their legacies alive.
