LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The City of Lima holding its GenNext Makers Camp to promote careers right here in Lima. Monday was Teamwork Day, where students had to complete several activities that required teamwork to achieve the goal. Lima Mayor Sharetta Smith joined the fun by participating in one of the activities.
Outage affecting local 911 service
There is currently a network server/interface outage affecting multiple areas of the United States and other areas around the globe. Some systems/networks are not available. Van Wert County is currently still receiving 911 calls, just not all information that normally comes with the call. Law enforcement is getting the voice but not the caller location and phone number with the call.
IT outage affects area, state, country
Friday’s global IT outage didn’t just affect local 911 services, it had a more widespread affect. Coast-to-coast 911 issues were reported Friday’s morning and banks, airports, airlines, some hospitals and media companies using Microsoft Windows computers were affected by the outage as well. Thousands of flights were canceled as Microsoft-based computers stopped working.

Lima Rotary Club hears about the benefits of Allen Lima Leadership program
LIMA, OH (WLIO) - The Lima Rotary Club heard more about the Allen Lima Leadership program on Monday. Allen Lima Leadership celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. Since 1989, over 1000 people have graduated from the courses, and the program is continuously improving the curriculum and adding more interactive lessons with local business and government leaders. Students enrolled learn all about how the organizations and companies that make Lima run smoothly operate and how they can apply the skills used by their leaders to improve their own careers and communities. Many Rotarians are graduates themselves.
Do-Rights donate to Veterans Food Pantry

Mary Ann Grieshop age 83 of Minster, Ohio, died on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Elmwood Assisted Living, New Bremen. She was born on April 18, 1941 in Piqua, Ohio to Elmer J. & Eleanor F. (Rethman) Drees. On May 7, 1960 she married Cletus Grieshop in St. Augustine Catholic Church, Minster and he preceded her in death on May 2, 2023.

State Road to close for five days
GOMER — State Road between Gomer and Dutch Hollow Roads will be closed for an extended period next week, according to a release from the Allen County Engineer’s Office. The road will close from Monday, July 22 through Friday, July 26 for crossover repair. There will be no access to that portion of roadway during the closure, the release said.

MIDDLE POINT, Ohio — Carolyn Sue Harp, 82, of Middle Point, died on July 12, 2024 at Van Wert Manor. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Alspach-Gearhart Funeral Home & Crematory where visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Ridge Cemetery.
