Around 2:42 p.m., the victim walked into the St. Marys Police Department with a noticeable head wound. She told officers she was driving on South St. Marys Street near the elementary school when she saw a man standing in the middle of the road with a hammer, charges show. She took off from the scene and immediately drove to the police station, according to the affidavit. Officers noted that she was bleeding the back of her head and had pieces of glass in her hair.
