GRAND ISLAND — David M. Ritzdorf, 76, of Grand Island, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, in Grand Island. Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at St. John’s Cemetery in Howells, Nebraska. A meal will be provided at a local restaurant following the services. Apfel Funeral Home – Grand Island is assisting the family.

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Missouri family that experienced the unthinkable now expresses their gratitude after the vicious attack at a Nebraska rest area. Investigators say an Ohio man stabbed Gary and Mary Weaver. Gary died a short time later while Mary was injured in what appears to have been an attempted robbery.
Grand Island man charged with drug trafficking and weapon possession after raid
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — A Grand Island man faces charges after a large amount of drugs was found during a search Friday afternoon. Cameron Kokes, 25, is charged in Hall County Court with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with the intent to distribute, possession of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony and two counts of possession of drug money.

Grand Island mother faces charges after baby’s death from suspected abuse
HOLDREGE, Neb. (KSNB) - A Grand Island woman whose baby daughter died this month from brain injuries will be in court next month to face charges. Court records show 21-year-old Elaina Nietfeld, formerly of Holdrege, is charged with two counts of intentional child abuse. She waived her initial court appearance and is set for a probable cause hearing July 24.
