GI Home Federal Wins At Hastings
(Hastings, NE) - A hot evening didn't phase the Grand Island Home Federal baseball team on Tuesday night as GI would get a 9-1 6-inning road win over Hastings Five Points Bank at Duncan Field. Hastings would take an early 1-0 lead in the first as Nolan Hyde would knock in an RBI single. That score would hold until the top of the third inning as Grand Island would tie the game with an RBI single from Broxton Barrientos. It would be the season's 36th hit and 30th RBI for Barrientos. After a scoreless fourth, Grand Island would open the game up in the top of the fifth scoring 6 runs to lead 7-1. The inning would be highlighted by Grayson Sack who batted twice in the frame. He would have a double in his first at-bat and follow it up with a 2 RBI double in his second time to the plate. Also in the fifth Ian Arends would knock in a 2 RBI single. Home Federal would add two more runs in the top of the sixth to make it 9-1 as the game would end in the 6th inning.
