Why a Portland psilocybin retreat center is adding identity-specific programs
About eight months after opening its psilocybin service center on Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, InnerTrek is moving into specialized group sessions. “We have a beautiful group space and we really believe in the power of healing and community and have some identity-specific programming coming up,” said Emma Knighton, who started in March as InnerTrek’s director of Services.

Portland Opera supports new performing arts center at PSU
The Portland Opera has endorsed Portland State University’s proposal to build a new performing arts center on its campus to replace the Keller Auditorium. The opera is the Portland arts organization to take a public stand on the contentious debate over the future of the Keller, which does not meet current earthquake standards. 23-year-old man arrested for May fatal shooting of Gresham resident
A 23-year-old man was arrested Tuesday, July 23, in connection to the shooting death of a Gresham man. Alex M. Brown-Golden was taken into custody by the Portland Police Bureau’s Homicide Unit, with assistance from U.S. Marshals. He is being held at the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of second-degree murder with a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon. Brown-Golden is accused of killing 34-year-old Ozell Shepherd, of Gresham, during a May 4 incident in the Wilkes Neighborhood. The fatal shooting took place in the 15700 block of Northeast Beech Street, where Shepherd was found dead in the street. The case remains under investigation.
