First heatwave of 2024 features a blazing hot holiday weekend
That’s how I would describe the last few days. Brief morning clouds to afternoon sunshine, cool mornings in the 50s, then late afternoon temperatures up around 80. Just today I was thinking how nice it was; wondering why it’s necessary to jump those temperatures up 20-25 degrees. Unfortunately, that’s going to happen during the long “holiday weekend” Thursday through Sunday. Get ready for a scorcher folks! Tomorrow will be the last comfortable day for at least a week. Hot weather arrives later on the 4th of July (Thursday) and really ramps up Friday through early next week. After some morning clouds again tomorrow, skies should be sunny or mainly sunny for the following week.

Katya Butler Is Stepping Into Their Power in Royal-Blue Heels
Partying and activism don’t have to be mutually exclusive. That’s especially true during Pride, but for Katya Butler, it’s an ethos they live by year-round. Butler has been a fixture of the gay Portland club scene since 2017, when they were “just a wee little water girl at Holocene,” handing out water and doing social media posts for the nightclub. (Butler goes by any and all pronouns.) That grew into their event company called Klip Klop Productions, which throws big drag parties like the two-day Dollapalooza 3000 show coming to WonderLove during Portland Pride, July 20-21.
