Public health officials urge Texans to be vigilant in protecting against mosquito bites after confirming the first Texas case of West Nile virus and 10 travel- associated dengue cases this year alone. Dallas police investigate fatal shooting at illegal gambling site
DALLAS, Texas — A shooting at an illegal gambling location in Dallas left one man dead and another injured Wednesday night. Dallas Police responded to a call at approximately 8:45 p.m. in the 300 block of E. Ledbetter Drive. Upon arrival, officers found two men shot inside the location. Estevan Narvaez Jr., a 40-year-old, died at the scene, while the second man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition, according to a press release from the Dallas Police Department.
