DART launches pilot program to test next-generation bus shelters
DALLAS, Texas — Bus riders in the Dallas area can now experience the new Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Next Generation Bus Shelters as part of a four-month pilot program. DART completed the installation of three versions of the new bus shelter prototypes at five bus stop locations across four cities on July 18. The transit agency partnered with Tolar Manufacturing, a leading bus shelter manufacturer in the United States, to create shelters based on feedback gathered from DART bus riders.

Dallas police seek publics help in locating missing man
DALLAS, Texas - The Dallas Police Department is asking for assistance in locating Mr. John Steven Starks. On July 25, 2024, at approximately 1:30 p.m., Mr. Starks was last seen in the 10900 block of Webb Chapel Road. He left the area on foot and may be confused and in need of assistance, according to a press release from the department. Mr. Starks is described as a 62-year-old white male, 5'10", 190 pounds, bald with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt, black track pants, gray shoes, and using a walker. Rowlett police seek juvenile suspect in triple shooting at city park
ROWLETT, Texas — Rowlett Police are actively searching for a juvenile suspect involved in a triple shooting at Twin Star Park that left three family members injured. On January 13, 2023, at 9:19 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at Twin Star Park, located at 6417 Fairfield Dr. in Rowlett, Texas. Upon arrival, they found two adults and a 14-year-old female, all from the same family, suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were transported by Rowlett Fire Rescue to a local hospital for treatment.
