TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Two people were injured in a crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 275 near St. Petersburg, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A Hyundai Sonata traveling northbound on I-275 lost control and crossed over the median, hitting a Tesla traveling southbound, troopers said. The crash sent the Tesla into a barrier wall and the Sonata came to a rest in the middle of the highway.

Both drivers were taken to a hospital and are expected to be OK, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Traffic cameras in the area near mile-marker 20 showed traffic moving slowly as of 5 p.m.

No other details about the crash were immediately available.
