ST. PETERSBURG (BLOOM) – Get ready, St. Pete. Chick-fil-A Tyrone Boulevard is back and better than ever. On Thursday, July 25, 2024, the beloved chicken sandwich spot will open its doors at a brand-new location, featuring an expanded drive-thru and an outdoor canopy for face-to-face ordering.

Laurie Harris, the local owner-operator, has been serving up Chick-fil-A’s famous hospitality and chicken sandwiches in St. Petersburg for over 18 years. Now, she’s excited to continue that tradition at the new address, 2190 Tyrone Blvd. North. Whether you’re dining in, driving through, or carrying out, the restaurant will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

The new, approximately 5,000-square-foot location boasts a welcoming dining area with 86 seats (both indoor and outdoor), two drive-thru lanes, and a designated outdoor canopy for face-to-face ordering. Plus, with 50 parking spaces and a dedicated Mobile Thru lane for app orders, convenience is clearly the name of the game.

But it’s not just about the chicken (delicious as it is). The reopening also brings approximately 40 new full- and part-time jobs to the community, adding to the already 150 team members employed at the restaurant. Harris, who started her Chick-fil-A journey in South Carolina and has been a local owner-operator since 2012, is committed to more than just running a restaurant. She’s all about cultivating relationships and giving back to the St. Petersburg community.

“We’re excited for the opportunity to improve our guests’ experience at this new location with the addition of Mobile Thru and an outdoor canopy area,” said Harris. “It’s been a pleasure serving at Chick-fil-A Tyrone Boulevard for the last five and a half years, and our team is thrilled to continue supporting our community in a positive and intentional way.”

Chick-fil-A’s franchise model is unique. Local owner-operators like Harris aren’t just businesspeople—they’re deeply involved in their communities, supporting local organizations, addressing hunger and education, and creating jobs.

Harris’ restaurant also participates in the Chick-fil-A Shared Table program, which redirects surplus food to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks, and nonprofits. Since its inception, this initiative has provided more than 25 million meals across the U.S. and Canada.

Of course, what’s a Chick-fil-A story without mentioning the food? Guests can look forward to the same high-quality, delicious menu items, from the original Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich to fresh salads and sides. Orders can be placed for pickup, dine-in, drive-thru, or through the Chick-fil-A App, with rewards available for Chick-fil-A One members.
