Franklin man gets prison time for Halloween party assault
Shawn Michael Latchaw, a 29-year-old man from Franklin, has been sentenced to three to 10 years in prison for aggravated indecent assault and an additional six months to two years for indecent assault without consent. The charges stem from an incident at a Halloween party in Sandycreek Township last year. The victim reported being assaulted by Latchaw after being offered a place to sleep at the party. Security footage, reviewed by the victim’s cousin, confirmed the assault and was handed over to the police. Latchaw was found guilty in April and sentenced by Venango County Senior Judge Robert L. Boyer.
