Garr, Neal top for Gang
It was another cloudy Monday for the Over the Hill Gang with Dave Garr earning the men’s low gross score with a 41. Jerry Neal got the men’s low net score with his 31. Rusty Haggard earned closest to pin in two on No. 10, while Ron Beaty got the closest to pin on No. 14. Mike Normandin also had the closest to pin on hole No. 17. Roger Webster proved his arm by getting the long putt on No. 11, with David Tallant earning the long putt on No. 12, and Wally Gibe getting the long putt on No. 13. Jesse Mack got the long drive on hole No. 15, while Ray Marshall had the long putt on that hole. Gary Moe showed his skills with the longest putt on No. 16, along with Charlie Hooten on No. 17, while Ron Beaty sank the long putt on hole No. 18. Hoopsters gather for Plains 3-on-3
More than 300 adults and kids gathered on the tarmac of the old Plains airport on Saturday for the 8th Annual Wildhorse ShootOut 3-on-3 basketball tournament. It was near nonstop action as the crowd cheered for players of the 73 teams that registered for the tournament at the Amundson Sports Complex, including a dozen teams from Sanders County, said Erika Lawyer, who coordinated the tournament put on by the Wildhorse Sports Association. WSA is the nonprofit organization that runs the sports complex. The double elimination tournament ran from 9 a.m. to nearly 4 p.m., when the Money Ballers of Lake County defeated the 406 Destroyers of Missoula 9-6 in the championship for the third- and fourth-grade level contest.
