Edith “Gram” Louise Smith Gould, 86, was called home to Paradise on July 3, 2024 at her home after a brief illness. Gram was born on April 13, 1938. Gram met Pa and married May 6, 1960 and spent 64 blessed years happily married. Gram will be fondly remembered for her tireless work and devotion to her family. She loved cooking and working in the kitchen. Gram also enjoyed gardening and beautiful flowers alike. She truly doted on her family and was a genuine selfless soul.

David Proctor knew he had a big task ahead. Although there were just 29 graduates from Plains High School in 1974, he was given the job of finding them and arranging the 50th PHS Reunion this past weekend. “We had 44 kids to start with,” Proctor said while standing adjacent to the entrance to his old high school. “Twenty-nine graduated and we tried to get ahold of everyone”. Man faces new DUI charges
Nicholas Robert Smalley made his initial appearance before Judge Molly Owen on Tuesday, entering a not guilty plea to a new felony charge of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and misdemeanor charges of driving while license suspended and unlawful possession of alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle. Perma bridge work nears completion
The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) and Frontier West have substantially completed work on the Flathead River – Perma Bridge project. Smokejumpers attacked a small wildfire July 4 that popped up in a forested area of rural Sanders County.The 4-acre Fishtrap Fire on the Lolo National Forest north of Thompson Falls was quickly contained Friday after showing moderate behavior.
