Suspect being sought in knife attack
Lebanon Police are searching for a suspect in a knife attack that happened late Thursday night in Lebanon. Police and Emergency Medical Services responded to a motel on West Elm where they found a 24 year old woman with knife cuts to her face. The suspect in the assault is a 37 year old woman who was last seen in the area of Fowler Drive in Lebanon, wearing a white sports bra, shorts and cowboy boots. The victim’s injuries were described as minor in nature, and she was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The knife that was used in the assault was recovered at the scene.

Lebanon Police launch new officer commendation, complaint program
The Lebanon Police Department on Monday announced a new program that Chief Jerry Harrison said is aimed at strengthening community trust and enhancing transparency within the department. This program introduces a streamlined process for citizens to submit commendations for exemplary officer behavior and file complaints for perceived police misconduct. To facilitate open communication, the LPD now offers both commendation and complaint forms. These forms are easily accessible to all community members, providing a direct channel for feedback on officer conduct. “Our new complaint and commendations process is intended to strengthen community trust in the LPD,” said Harrison in a written statement. “This program allows us to recognize and celebrate exemplary behavior and outstanding service by our officers, while also providing a formal mechanism for reporting and addressing any perceived misconduct." Lake Regional taking donations for outpatient surgery center
Lake Regional Health System announced Thursday that it has begun accepting tax-credit eligible donations for the completion of its outpatient surgery center. The nonprofit organization has set a goal of $5 million in community support. The announcement came in a question-and-answer session at Thursday’s Lake Regional social held at The Hive. CEO Kevin McRoberts began the session by elaborating on the nonprofit’s mission in Lebanon, noting that Lake Regional is not here to compete with existing providers. Sharon Kay Roberts, 62, of Richland, died Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at her home. She is survived by her four children, Mark Davenport of St. Louis, Sarah Weber (Brandon) of Phenix City, Ala., Brian Roberts of Richland, and Alan Roberts (Lindsey) of Lebanon; seven grandchildren; one sister, Delorse Day; one brother, Robbie Stubbs; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Sidewalk grant approved
The City of Lebanon’s grant application for sidewalks along the I-44 Business Loop has been approved. Public Works Director Richard Shockley announced at Monday’s City Council meeting that TAP (Transportation Alternative Program) funding was authorized for the completion of 2,300 feet of sidewalk along Morgan Road/44 Business Loop from Granite Lane to Ivey Lane.
